RapidKL Light Rail Transit LRT

KL LRT, the commonly used name for the RapidKL Light Rail Transit, is the most popular urban transit system in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley. The Kl LRT consists primarily of two main lines: the Kelana Jaya Line and the Ampang Line, which were opened in 1995 and 1998 respectively. The extensive KL LRT network has 50 stations, covering a total distance of 56 km.

The Kelana Jaya Line of RapidKl Light Rail Transit

The Kelana Jaya Line with 24 stations consists of a single line traversing from Kelana Jaya in the south to Gombak in the north. The Kelana Jaya line route serves the Petaling Jaya region in the south, Kuala Lumpur city centre in the centre and popular areas like Wangsa Maju, Setiawangsa and Gombak to the north of Kuala Lumpur.

The Ampang Line of RapidKl Light Rail Transit

The Ampang Line is one of the 2 lines of RapidKl Light rail Transit. The Ampang Line consists of two routes that begin at two different LRT stations to the south of Kuala Lumpur but merge at a common interchange station in Chan Sow Lin in the city centre.

The 2 routes begin at Sri Petaling and Ampang respectively.The 2 routes converge rat Chan Sow Lin and from there, the shared route proceeds to the city center and ends at the north at Sentul Timur station.

RapidKL KL Monorail

The Kuala Lumpur Monorail, commonly called Kl Monorail, is an urban monorail system serving primarily the city core of Kuala Lumpur.

There are 11 stations in the 8.6 km Kuala Lumpur Monorail route with two parallel elevated tracks. The monorail route connects the Kuala Lumpur Sentral transportation hub with the Golden Triangle, Kuala Lumpur’s modern business and shopping precinct, and the inner precincts of Kuala Lumpur, like Titiwangsa, Chow Kit, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Raja Chulan and Bukit Bintang.

KTM Komuter

The KTM Komuter is a regional electric commuter rail service serving Kuala Lumpur, the Klang Valley, Selangor and parts of Negeri Sembilan. It consists of two main routes with 51 stations in the 217 km regional electric commuter train network.

RapidKL Kuala Lumpur Monorail: Train in station

The 2 routes are:

  • Batu Caves-Port Klang route:The areas covered are Batu Caves, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur city to Port Klang.
  • Batu Caves-Port Klang route:The areas covered are Tanjung Malim, Rawang, Seremban to Sungei Gadut in Negeri Sembilan.

There is a KTM Komuter Rawang-Tanjung Malim shuttle service from Rawang to Tanjung Malim, Selangor.

KLIA Express Rail Link

KLIA Express Rail Link, commonly called ERL, is the fastest express rail link that connects the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to the KL Sentral, the Kuala Lumpur city center transportation hub.

The KLIA Express line is a non-stop rail service and the KLIA Transit line has 3 intermediate stations between the KLIA and Kuala Lumpur.
