Basic KTM Komuter Information
KTM Komuter is an electric air-conditioned regional commuter train service for Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas in the Klang Valley, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
It was introduced in 1995 and is operated by KTM Berhad (KTMB), the Malaysian national train service company. KTM is a short form for Keretapi Tanah Melayu.
KTM Komuter commuter train service is a popular mode of affordable public transportation for commuters working in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley. Commuters can travel to the city without the hassle of traffic congestion. The electric train coaches are modern and air-conditioned for comfortable traveling. ‘Park & Ride’ facility is provided at a nominal charge for those who drive and park at the stations.
KTM Komuter, as a regional rail network, has good key interchanges for commuters to transfer to other RapidKL Rail and RapidKL Bus networks. This makes travels in Kuala Lumpur, the Klang Valley, Selangor and Negeri Semilan very accessible.
